Salmon fishing on the Columbia

Nicole's Grandpa, Dad, Mom and Brother came to Omak this past weekend. Connor has now officially met all of his great grandparents.. all 5 of them!  Nicole's Grandpa loves to fish, but it is becoming more and more challenging these days, so for Christmas and Fathers day Nicole's parents got him 2 days of guided fishing on the Columbia with Jeremy's good friend from high school. The 4 of us that fished were: Grandpa Don, Nicole's dad Kevin, Jeremy and Nicole. Uncle Brian and Grandma Shelly babysat Connor so Nicole could fish, this is officially the first time Connor has been without Jeremy or Nicole for an extended period.... weird! :-)

We had 2 good days of fishing. My Grandpa Don started it off right with a 30 lb King Salmon within the first 15 min of being in the water... it was the largest fish caught the whole trip :-)
Grandpa reeling in the big one! Notice how dark it is... it was 5:00 in the morning :-)

Grandpa and Jerrod with the big one... notice how much lighter it is outside.. it took between 30-45 minutes to get it into the boat!!
Nicole with her biggest of the fishing trip

Day one Catch....

Grandpa Don with his huge 30lber :-) Happy Man....

Day 2's biggest fish

Four Generations!! 3 love to fish... we'll see if #4 does too!! :-)

Brian was planning on staying in Omak for a week, but after the long drive, sleeping in a "non-hospital" bed and a different routine, he realized it was just too soon to try.. so instead Nicole and Connor are going to Boise for the week...should be fun!

Summer Fun!!

We have been taking a bunch of video clips of Connor, but just haven't had time to load them to You Tube.. but I finally got it done, so I apologize for there being so many at once.. but here are a few fun videos of Connor this past month and a half :-)

Connor is starting to grasp toys and when he was about 3 months old, he shook a rattle for the first time.. I got it on video :-)

He started reaching for things a while ago, but this video shows just how much he is batting at and reaching for toys.. this play mat is one of his favorites:

Connor and I went to Boise in the middle of June for Parma convention, Grandma Shelly was changing him into his PJ's and she had him just giggling up a storm! SOO glad we got it on video:

While we were in Boise, Connor also got to go for his first swim... He loved it! can't wait until we go back so he can swim again (next time it will be warmer and we can stay in a little longer!)

Connor finds it hilarious and intriguing watching Duke, our black lab, chase his ball. I decided to hold him on Dukes back while he waited to be released to chase his ball. When Duke disappeared, Connor thought it was the funniest thing ever. The video quality is HORRIBLE and its so dark it's hard to see what's going on, but it still cute :-)

July has been SOO busy.. but we've still managed to find time to play :-)

Jeremy and Connor hanging out after work one evening

Connor hugging his favorite blankie :-)

We're not feeding Connor solids quite yet, but likely will soon, We have given him tastes just to experiment and experience nerw tastes and textures. This is him sucking on a watermelon, he loved it :-)

I realized I haven't gotten any pictures of Connor with the dogs, so here he is hanging out with Duke and Daisy.. They were loving it! Connor didn't mind either.

Connor loves to stand up now, obviously we still have to hold him, but he has some strong little legs under all those rolls :-) (Speaking of Chunky legs.. I gave in and bought a Bumbo chair for Connor now that he loves to sit upright, got it home, went to sit him in it and... eeearch.... his legs didn't fit! "you have to be kidding me, my babys legs are to fat for the Bumbo!!" O well, I was hesitant about having one anyways... Still fun to laugh about :-)

Connor continues to loves anything with water, showers, baths, so I decided to try out the bath chair.. he loved it! He even tried to grab at the ducks, and seemed confused when they sank under his hand. When he did get one where he wanted it,straight to the mouth!

Jeremy's cousin Jenny got married this past weekend, so we were back in Spokane again, it was a rushed weekend, but a beautiful wedding and so nice to see all the family!

This is Connor before the wedding, he was a happy camper being in the stroller. He didn't seem to mind his hat either :-).. He got so much attention being dressed like this.. and because he's just so cute too!!

Momma and her boy!!

Jenny and her Dad (Jeremy's uncle Bob)
YEAH... married!

The next thing on the agenda for our busy summer is fishing.. :-) Nicole's family (Dad, Mom, Grandpa and Brother) is coming to Omak for 2 days of Salmon fishing, then Nicole's brother will stay in Omak for a week. Nicole will drive Brian back to Boise next Thursday, which is the same day Jeremy leaves for Alaska for a weekend of fishing with his brother and a few other guys. Nicole will spend a few days in Boise, then a few in Seattle with her best friend. Should be FUN! Looking a month ahead is our big family trip to Alaska~ Jeremy, Connor and I are renting an RV and going to see as much of Alaska as possible (well to some degree, with gas at over $4 a gallon and only getting 8 mpg, we will limit the driving) We are both getting very excited for this trip! Hopefully my next post we're holding monster Salmon!!

a wedding, fireworks and a 4 month old

4th of July Weekend:

Started with Lindsey and Chris' wedding in Coeur d' Alene on Friday. Nicole's mom and Jeremy watched Connor for the day while Nicole did the photography. It was the longest she's ever been seperated from Connor, while it went very well, Nicole doesn't plan to be away from him for that long again anytime soon...Here are just a taste of the over 2,000 pictures I got at the from the big day :-)

We spent Saturday and Sunday working around the house and hanging out with Jeremy's mom and brother. Monday we did some rental stuff, worked in the yard and even did a few fireworks with Connor :-)

Connor sleeping on Grandma Nancy's lap

Tummy Time!! He is getting VERY strong :-)

Jer and Connor watching fireworks

Connor and I looking at a firework, He was tired at this point, so he wasn't too interested.. he looked at the lights.. but that was about it :-/ o well.. next year :-)

Connor officially turned 4 months old on the 4th of July, so for this months photos, I decided to use Red White and Blue as my theme..

hmmm deep in thought :-)

SOO cute!

He wasn't really very into pictures, so I decided to feed him and let him take a nap... on the posing chair :-) that way I could at least get a few of him sleeping, then if he woke up in a good mood, we'd be ready to start taking pictures.. and guess what... He woke up happy :-)

See... happy kid after a cat nap :-)

again.. deep in thought, or just wondering why him mom is dancing around like she is crazy!

LOVE this face :-) He is sooo happy.. this is a very typical smile we see every day now! He was mid-giggle I believe :-)

Talk about a poser !!

He is sooo stinking cute!!

A few stats on Connor..
19.4 lbs, 26 1/4" long wearing 9-12 mo clothes and finally into size 2 shoes :-).. problem now is many don't fit because his feet are too fat! O well - it's summer, who needs shoes!
Connor has officially picked a favorite blankie (i'll be ordering a backup very soon :-)
He is very active-reaches and grabs all sorts of things! (he especially favors hair, mom's hair, dads' chest hair... ouch :-/ )
Connor is very smart with his hands.. We have this game where we make a fist and say "nuckles".. he will make a fist, then we "pound it". Then we put our hand up and say "high 5" he opens his fingers up and puts his hand on our hand.. We are starting to do "Hi Connor" and wiggle our fingers like we're waving, he's just starting to get the hang of it! Also working on the sign for "milk" when we nurse.. he's not caught onto that one as fast, but i'm sure he will soon :-)
It is SOO fun watching how much he is learning and trying to figure things out! We are enjoying every stage... Soon he'll be mobile :-)
