Belated Valentines Dinner

Valentines Day 2011

I was so excited for Valentines day this year because it was the night before I was officially off of bedrest and I was looking forward to an evening out with my hubby. Well... he was "sick as a dog" with a sinus infection (missed 4 days of work because of it, new record for him)... I was impressed though.. even being sick he still got up and had roses, candy and a gift certificate for dinner on the table waiting for me when I got up :-) I redeemed the gift certificate the following weekend after we were both feeling better (I ended up sick too). We went to Sun Mountain Lodge (about 10 miles out of Winthrop.) It was beautiful and the dinner was amazing. I had crab tail for appetizer and scallops for dinner, Jeremy had a salad for appetizer and filet for dinner, then we had homeade apple pie with homeade icecream for dessert.  YUM...

This was us at our private booth/table.. it pointed directly at the windows (too bad it was dark and there wasn't anything to see...still very romantic setting.)
There were these two amazing fireplaces in the lobby.... had to get a picture by them-and had to show off the belly..even though I look HUGE.. it will be good to have to remember :-)

We've been overrun by dogs

So I'm sure most of you know that Jeremy and I have 2 dogs of our own.. a black lab, and a daschaund/terrier mix.. they have been out babies since we got married.... Having 2 dogs is do-able.

I'm sure most of you also know that I, Nicole, am a magnet for stray dogs...

and some of you likely know that Nancy, Jeremy's mom also has 2 dogs (2 big dogs) and when she goes out of town, we often dog sit... ok well all of these things considered.... my house currently feels like a dog pound. I have 5 dogs.. yes 5! in my house.. our 2, nancy's 2 and the cuttest puppy I found wandering in town a few days ago.

Luckily.... We have completed the flooring project which gives us the whole office area in solid tile, and I got the child gates in and installed making the office area our new dog "area", this is important because with new carpet.. we are restricting the dogs to the tiled areas only (ours have to have their paws scrubbed with soapy water before they are allowed in the rest of the house.. )

I love dogs, so I'm handling all of the extras pretty well, but it has made "nesting" a little more challenging. Here are a few photos of the craziness I brought on myself!

This is the puppy I found, she is about 5 mos old, a Puggle!! so adorable :-)
Her and Daisy have completely befriended each other, this is them napping together...
This is all 5 dogs napping in the sunshine in their dog area...
Dinner time has become quite the production!

Baby Shower

My good friends Pam and Lisa threw me a baby shower a few weeks ago in Omak. It was a wonderful shower and we were given so many fantastic gifts! Everyone who came to the shower made scrapbook pages for me to add to my baby album. I can't wait to get to start adding pictures to them!~

The baby room if officially ready, stocked and I think we have everything we need now for this little guy to introduce himself. We officially made it to 36 weeks! Which means I am DONE with bedrest completely! I can go back to my "normal activities and routine". We are just waiting now for when this baby boy decides he's ready!

Thank you to everyone who came to the shower, or who has sent us gifts! They have all been so wonderful and helpful in preparing our house, baby room and life for another member of our family!

 Pam made this wonderful cake!
The Scrapbook supplies
 Decorations by Lisa
Yum... tasty snacks to go with our tea!
 Scrapbooking away....

Opening gifts with my helpers Dakota and Marissa!
I had to see if he would fit or not... :-)
Me, Dakota and the cake in the recliner (I was still on bedrest at the time of the shower, so I either sat in this chair, or at the scrapbooking table prettty much the whole shower... doctors orders... It was so nice to get out of the house and see PEOPLE!~!

Again, thank you everyone who has thought of us and sent us cards and gifts, we appreciate it all so very much!

Sneak Peak... recent ultrasound photo

Had an ultrasound on Friday, this is a profile view of his face.. His nose looks so small, and his lips look so big!! My mom said that that is what I looked like when I was a baby, so maybe he'll look more like me (nicole).. We'll See!!

Belly Laughs

Got my smiles in for the day!

I SOOO needed one of these a few months ago!

Update: Still on bedrest, aparantly don't have a yeast infection, my doctor is baffled, so I'm sure she'll be running more tests today at my apt... OH WHAT FUN!. Ultrasound Friday.... Mom and Dad get in today, they are here for the weekend; mom came for my shower, and dad has offered to help Jeremy with the flooring project.. BUSY weekend (for them.. I'll be sitting around watching... :-(   I am very excited to get out of the house for a few hours for my shower though.. I'll be staying put in a recliner the whole time, but who cares... there will be PEOPLE to talk to!! :-) YEAH

Baby Room and Back to Bedrest

So I am back to strict bedrest until I get to 36 weeks.. (about 2 1/2 more weeks). What is to blame? spotting, thinning cervix, and a yeast infection (and maybe me not behaving on "modified bedrest"...bad Nicole)!!! I'm so ready for baby draggoo to be here so all I have to worry about is not getting any sleep and lots of laundry and dirty diapers~! Those will be the days.. and i'm not kidding! :-) I'm also looking forward to the smell of a new baby, his soft skin that is perfect to kiss, sitting for hours just staring at him while he sleeps, all of it... CANT WAIT!~!

I'm very glad I got this done when I did....

The baby room is basically put together.. here are the pictures of us putting it together and what it looks like.

Inspection crew making sure it is suitable and safe... :-)

Me and baby in his crib just before we make the final attachments!

The Crib... His name will go on the wall between the two trees after he is born

Whole thing.. I hope to put a rocking chair in soon.. if it will fit (it's a pretty small room..)

Changing Table

Valance and the animal wall decorations I painted.. They match the bedding

Now all that is left to add is a baby!

~~New Years Update~~

Sorry it's been so long since I updated!! It's been crazy here with being gone and our house project... but here's what we've been up to: A few weeks before Christmas, I had an ultrasound and it showed that I had had a significant change in my cervix (still within normal range though), so my doctor put me back on strict bedrest, I decided that if I was going to do bedrest, why not be in Boise where I would be close to a NICU hospital and I could hang out with my family instead of being home alone all day. So... Brian picked me up and drove me to Boise when he was done with finals, then Jeremy came down for Christmas and I went back to Omak with him. I got to spend 2 full weeks in Boise! I was pretty good about staying down and taking it easy, but I did decide that I HAD to go shopping a few times. At the mall my mom and grandma pushed me around in a wheel chair, then at Costco, JoAnns and Cabelas I got one of those motorized scooter things they have. It was great, EXCEPT that at JoAnn's I crashed the stupid thing into the cash register, then into the wall when trying to park it, and because it was in the checkout line, there were like 25 women watching!! SOOO humiliating. Here are the pictures of me getting around bedrest style!

We spent Christmas morning with Nicole's family: her Mom, Dad and Brother, and her Grandma and Grandpa Cable. These are us getting ready to open the presents...

We had a very nice weekend, very relaxing. We played games, went to a movie, ate lots of good food! and of course got a great deal of entertainment from the 4 dogs. One game that has been a Cable family tradition is called "Give Me 5". I've been playing it since I can remember, so we had to bust it out for a few matches.. :-)

While I was in Boise playing, Jeremy was at home working extremely hard to get the flooring done, or at least to a point that they could lay the carpet after new years. Here is one picture I took of him working on the new tile before I left for Boise. I'll post some of the AFTER pictures in a little while...... after we get our house back together! We still have a few weekends worth of work to do before it will all be done, the goal is to just have it complete before baby decides to introduce himself. We are re-doing every surface of flooring in the house in tile and carpet. So far it looks AWESOME!! They installed the carpet this past week, and we are both very happy with how it turned out!

When I was in Boise I met with my old doctor 2 times and had ultrasounds, they showed no change! YEAH.. I've had 2 more in Omak since then and they too show no change! So i'm back to working part time, and am hoping that this will last until the baby is born. With all of the stuff we bought for baby, and the new flooring, we can use all the money we can make right now. So even if i'm only part time, it's better than nothing!

For new years we didn't even make it until midnight! We did go over to some friends of ours in town to play games and have dinner, but only lasted until about 11:00. One of our good friends are also expecting.. they live in Pullman, but there family is here in Omak, so they were in town visiting for new years. She is due 2 weeks before me. This was taken at meeting on Sunday.

Wishing everyone a very happy 2011! I know ours will be filled with lots of sleepless nights, dirty diapers, laughter, happiness and love!
