Vanessa 1 month old get to meets a bunch of new people

Surprise surprise.. i'm behind on blogging again! Here goes:

On February 7th Vanessa turned 1 month old. She weighed in at 10 lbs 3 oz and was already 21.7 inches. She is growing so well, and even starting to get some chunks, she just might take after her big brother after all! She still sleeps most of the day, and when she is awake, she is very easy going, really only fusses and cries when she is having her diaper changed or the usual, hungry, sleepy, poopy or cold (she is very temperamental about temperature). Here are the pictures I snapped of her at 1 month:

She has smiled a few times, but it is stull pretty sporadic and almost accidental, except when she is sleeping, which I can almost always get her to smile by talking to her.. that's what I did here :-)

Like a little doll!

LOVE this little cashmere outfit!

Yeah.. she woke up... it's still pretty rare to have her awake... so we enjoy it when we get it

Her eyes are getting lighter blue every day! Orange hair, blue eyes...go Broncos! Connor may be a Huskie like his daddy, but she'll be a Bronco like mommy :-)

Funny story about Connor recently. We were in Boise and when we went by the BSU stadium Connor asked "whats that?" I said "it's where the Broncos play football, say GO BRONCOS" his response... exact words: "no mommy, go Huskies"..... Jeremy was very proud in that moment!!

My good friend Lisa wanted to have a baby shower for me, but because we didn't know what we were having, and because I felt weird having a shower before the baby was born anyway, plus we wanted Jeremy's mom to be included (since she was gone the month of January) we waited until she was a little over a month old. We had the shower at my house because several of my friends hadn't seen it yet. Several of my friends even came from out of town, it was a WONDERFUL shower, and we were given several very generous and adorable gifts!

Baby Shower Pictures:
Everyone wanted to get there hands on her...but nobody wanted to let her go, so it basically took boldness to get to hold her.. it was fun to watch how people just adored her!

The decorations were adorable!

Between everyone's kids and the adults..... it was a full house, but that is what we designed it for...

Onsie guest book!

Party favors...

Connor was a big help, especially with the gifts for him!

Watching the gifts be opened

I LOVED everything.. and I got a really good variety of sizes and types of outfits and gifts

It was a tea party :-)

Grancy and some of the other guests admiring Baby Nessa

My best friend Suzanne from Seattle came for the shower. Her and the kids stayed for the shower Saturday, while Jeremy and Shane went North to Oroville to be with a bunch of the other guys.. they had a demolition derby where they got to drive cars needing to be junked up in the hills, they raced them, ran over large rocks, etc.... they had a great time being "boys again". We had a great weekend together.. so did the kids :-)

The kids always get along great... here they are playing with Connors SAND!

Jeremy's cousin Angela and her family also came for the weekend, they stayed with Nancy, but Sunday we had everyone to our house for lunch after meeting.

Kalia (41 mo) Connor (35 mo) Teagan (35 mo) Kinley (22 mo)

Besties with our babies! I have a picture like this when we just had the two kids.. amazing how fast things can change! It feels like just yesterday we were single gals living together in college.... now when we get together, we are lucky if we can have a complete conversation without someone needing us! It's crazy, but awesome :-)

All of us... if any of us have any more kids we won't have any way to hold them!!

We went to Boise for the long weekend in February so Nicole's Dad, Brother and Grandparents on both sides and even  a few extras..could meet Vanessa. It was a fast weekend, but very nice to see everyone!

GGMa checning her out with Nana

Vanessa admiring her GGma

Papa meets his granddaughter...

Great Grandma Yagues talking to Nessa

Great Grandpa Yagues meeting his 4th great grand daughter

Uncle Kevin stopped by a few times, he enjoyed getting his hands on her too :-)

GGPa Cable holding Nessa

GGma.... admiring the 4th generation girl!

Jeremy's cousin Dean is living in Meridian, going to lineman school, so he came over for dinner Sunday evening, it is very obvious in this photo where Vanessa gets the red.. it is definitely strong on Jeremy's side of the family :-)

I couldn't help myself when I say Papa and Connor both "working" on their IPads :-)

Precious!

On our way out of town we stopped by the shop to say bye to Papa and Uncle Brian...

Brian held her a bunch, but this is the best photo... She LOVES Uncle Brian.. he seems to be getting the most smiles so far!

I should have put her hood on too :-)

It was very nice to go home, I will traveling to Hawaii with the 2 kids to meet up with my family in just a few weeks. I hope traveling alone with 2 goes well! I'm just glad i'll have help on both ends!

Life with 2 and Vanessa from 2-4 weeks

At Vanessa's 13 day check up she weighed in at a whopping 6 lb 13 oz- nearly 1 whole pound since birth and had grown 2 inches (20in)! My doctor said that this was just proof that there was something wrong with the placenta and that she is doing much better on the outside than in! She still feels tiny, but is already loosing the redness to her skin as she puts on the fat! Here are her pictures from 2 weeks:

This little antique doll bed will be her monthly prop, to show how much she grows.. obviously eventually she won't be IN the doll bed :-) It should be fun to see the changes.. amazing how big the doll bed looks in these.. it really isn't a very big doll bed!

Connor doesn't have much interest in holding Vanessa, but he loves to rub her tummy, hold her hand, kiss her head etc. He loves her and is doing AMAZING! He isn't jealous (well except on facetime.. where he gets as close to the screen as possible so she can't be seen :-), aggressive or terribly crabby. The main personality change he's made since adding baby sister is that he is goofy... yeah like silly/crazy "class clown" status! It's been pretty entertaining :-)

He was very excited about these pictures! Although it bothered him that the track didn't connect on the bottom ;-)

More in the doll bed.. SOO tiny!

She is loosing her hair a little (getting thinner) but she's got LOTS more than Connor did at this age!  Love this precious little face!!

Had a really hard time getting good ones of both of them! Welcome to the world of photographing multiple little ones! Still think this ones pretty cute though! PLUS her eyes are open :-) They are still pretty dark, but getting more blue everyday. If they stay blue I have a feeling they will be a darker blue than Jeremy's. Connors eyes are looking a little more green everyday, which is a bit of a surprise

Happy Early Valentines day!

When I can afford the canvas's of these, they will be going above our bed, the feet in the middle, then the ones of Me/Vanessa and Jeremy/Connor on each side....

(the one of the "boys" was taken by Pam Grillo during our pregnancy shoot.I just cropped myself out.. and Jeremy snapped the one of the "girls" before meeting a few weeks ago...

I took Connor and Vanessa for a walk.. it was a very short one :-) but it was great... fun to use the double stroller!

Look how small she looks and how BIG he looks!! this will be a cool picture to compare over the next few years too!

We forgot to take a "first meeting" picture, but this one was her second Sunday...  by about this point (3 weeks old, Vanessa has reached Connors birth weight (7 lb 11 oz, she is still not as long, she is 20 1/4" inches-he was 21" at birth)

Connor still loves his Sand.. he came to me a few days ago and asked for cups... it took a while to figure out what he meant.. Cup Cake cups.... then after a while he came back and said "candles please... cake for everybody!" This was what he had created!! What a sweet little guy to be thinking about everyone else :-) and what a creative idea!

Connors cupcakes for everybody!

We FINALLY got snow!! so we had to go out and enjoy it :-)

bundled up and loving it!

He loves to ride his bike up and down the back deck while Duke chases him... It is great that he can get outside even in the winter!

Playing ball with Duke...

LOVED this... she is SOOO small.. even at almost a month old!

We went back and were looking at pictures of Connor from about a month old just for comparison sake... this is the one that blew us both away...

Connor was just over 4 weeks old in this picture

She is just shy of 4 weeks old (so about a week difference in age total, but still.... LOOK how much bigger Connor was! And how much less hair he had!

Grancy was gone for the month of January in St. Croix, so she unfortunately didn't get to meet Vanessa until she was almost 4 weeks old.. she was very excited to get home to meet her though!

Excited... I think so :-) She is finally getting to have a girl around! after 3 boys, this will be a whole new world for the Draggoo's :-)

Talking to Nessa, checking each other out

Wide awake! This doesn't happen very often :-)

We had the workers (Melissa and Kari) here from Feb 3-5th, They both seemed to enjoy getting some baby time!

I took Vanessa into the doctor yesterday because she wasn't feeling very good, when they weighed her she was 8 lb. 15 oz and 20 3/4" long! this is at 4 weeks old! She has officially already gained 3 whole pounds since birth! This is HUGE growth.. no wonder she's been sleeping 20-22 hrs a day still! While this seems big (and for her it is) I have to remind myself that Connor was 12lb. 2 oz at a month... She still has some catching up to do if she'll ever get to Connors size! Having a great time with both kids, and getting into the grove of things very well!

Looking ahead at the month of February, we will be in town this coming weekend and will have company.. my good friend Suzanne and her family are coming to visit and to go to the baby shower my friend Lisa is hosting for me. We are having it at our house since there are a few people coming from out of town that haven't seen the house yet, and many of my friends have kids, so they will be able to play in the playroom during the shower. We counted and we figure there will be 14 kids under the age of 6... should be crazy! :-) Then the following weekend we are going to Boise so that Papa and Uncle Brian can meet Vanessa as well as the Yagues and Cable Great Grandparents'.. Nicole has decided to be brave, and at the end of February-March 6th, she will be traveling with the 2 kids to Maui to meet up with her family and the Grant Family (longtime friends) for a week in the sunshine! I have traveled with Connor enough, and Vanessa is still in a fairly easy stage, so I am not too worried about it, plus i'll have help on both ends of the trip! Very excited about some warm weather!!!

Until next post :-)
