My best friend Suzanne and her husband Shane and there adorable daughter Kalia came to Omak for the weekend. It was so nice to see them, and so much fun watching Kalia's reaction to meeting Connor (she's never been around another baby) Connor is a grunter, and Kalia decided that she was going to talk to him since nobody else seemed to want to talk in his language, so we spent the weekend with "babytainment" :-)
Shane holding Connor, introducing Kalia to him for the first time, she was so excited she would rear back and hit the couch, reach forward to touch him, then kick her legs.. Shane and Suzanne called it being "spastic". It was adorable :-)
Again, Kalia checking out Connor..
Suzanne being "super woman". We both agreed after the weekend that we are glad it is physically impossible to have children this close together!~ (They are exactly 6 mo apart) It would be exhausting to say the least!
We went to Waterville Saturday afternoon to see our good friends Justin and Pam and their 2 yr old daughter Dakota (Pam did Kalia's 6 mo baby pictures, then we all had dinner together). While we were eating dinner, Dakota disappeared, we found her here, admiring Connor, holding his hand. She absolutely LOVES him, she helped me change his diaper- she had the job of applying baby powder. Pam is glad to see how into and good she is with a baby, as they are expecting their second in September!! Yeah :-)
It was BEAUTIFUL on Sunday! It was nice enough that we spent some time outside after meeting. Kalia got to meet our friendly goats :-)
We bar-b-qued hamburgers and even ate outside! :-)
Shane recently bought Suzanne a Lady Smith pistol, and because there aren't really any good places to shoot it in Seattle, they figured- OMAK, that's the country, we can shoot it there! They were right :-) They even let me shoot it a few rounds! It kicked pretty good, but was so fun to shoot!
Best friends and there babies! Amazing how much our lives have changed in 4 years..
Connor had a little bit of a stuffy nose before Shane and Suzanne came, but I didn't think anything of it.. Well by today he has a full blown cold and feels terrible, Kalia has a runny nose and both of the guys have sore throats! I feel bad that we gave it to them :-( Hoping everyone starts to feel better soon!
Here are a few pictures of just the 3 of us at home before and after our company was here:
He fell asleep during tummy time :-)
Reading with mom!
Talking hunting with dad, in my sweet camo PJ's
He is SOO close to smiling.. he "smurks" but we haven't counted any of them as true smiles.. very soon though i'm sure :-)
I think Connor and his mom are going to have matching smiles :)
ReplyDeleteSo cool to see you guys hanging out with Shane and Suzanne! Your bebes are SO cute!! And such beautiful mommies. :D And it's NOT impossible to have kids that close together! :D Twins, adoption... And even 22 months (my kids' gap) feels too close sometimes! Ah well, it's what we can handle, right? Thank goodness!
