To Boise and Back

Alot has happened since my last post! So this might be a long one with lots of pictures!!!.... Connor and Nicole flew to Boise the Saturday before Parma Convention to spend a few days with the family... Jeremy drove over Wednesday night late and we went to all of Parma. The weekend following that (so June 24-25) Jeremy and I worked hard to get things around our yard caught up since we'll be gone so many weekends this summer. Of course there are lots of fun pictures of Connor during the week too, as he is cute and provides photo opps all week long :-)

Connor hanging our with Uncle Brian, notice he's sporting his sweet swim suit, this is just before he went for his first swim in a pool :-).

Brian is doing as good as could be expected, saw a new doctor in Boise that he likes a lot.. They told him that he has 1 more month non-weight bearing on his right leg and 2 more months on his left, then it's 3 months of rehab. Below are the most recent x-rays. We knew all his injuries were bad, but it really puts into perspective just how intense they are when you see these!!:

right femur, shows from the kneee to just above the break , notice the rod and screws..

Pelvis, show the plate located on the front side and the screw inserted in his left hip (to fix dislocation)

Left lower leg, shows the break in the tibia and fibula, they put a rod in the tibia, but can't in the fibula-too small (this is part of the reason he has to wait another 2 months before he puts weight on this leg, also because this was the side he dislocated his hip)....

While these are bad injuries and Bri has a long road of recovery ahead of him.. we are all so thankful that he will walk again!!!

Mom and Dad have a pool (actually it's technically a "water feature"-because of building codes :-) but I decided when I was home I'd take Connor for his first swim:

Connor going for his first swim in Grandma and Grandpa's pool.. He loved it.. kicked and laughed :-) Was a little chilly, but Mom couldn't help herself!

Yeah!! Connor likes to be in water.. not that this is a surprise :-)

When I was in Boise, my Grandma on my dad's side came to see Connor. Connor has now officially met all 3 of his great grandmas! Here he is with the two on Nicole's side:

Great Grandmas hanging out with their first great grandson!

Connor with Nicole's uncle Kevin, he had him giggling so much :-)

Grandpa Kevin had the touch- to get him to go to sleep... he was just chilling on his lap, when all of a sudden dad said "he's getting really heavy, is he asleep?"

Four generations.. (Great) Grandpa Don didn't come this time, but he'll be in Omak in July for a fishing trip, thats when he'll meet Connor, i'll get another 4 generations picture then too :-)

Connor with his Great Grandma Shirley Yagues

Great Grandma Verleen teaching Connor about the color red. They were counting, reaching and singing :-)

I propped Connor up in the corner of the couch so he could look around and watch what I was doing. Next thing I knew, he was hunched over asleep with his favorite blankie in his mouth :-) He won't take pacifiers, and still hasn't figured out the thumb, but he loves to suck on fabric!

For Parma convention, we stayed in a hotel in Ontario, there was a pool, so one evening I decided to take Connor for another swim:

The water wasn't very warm, but at least the air when we got out was :-) He loved it again, this time Jeremy got to see him swimming!~

He kicked his legs...... Smiled and was having a great time..

Uncle Brian stayed at the hotel too (they had a wheel chair room, which was easier than going to mom and dads every night) He came to hang out and watch Connor swim too :-)

At convention, Connor was already "getting the ladies!" older ones too :-) The little girl on the left is Jeremy's cousin Ben's daughter Robin-so I guess she doesn't count as one of his girlfriends :-) But still... notice how happy he is :-)

Here is this years fathers day picture.. Totally spaced taking one at convention on Sunday, so took this when we got home that night, connor was a little sleepy at that point :-)

Here are afew of the "happenings" since we got home:

The weather is finally starting to warm up, so Connor has been sporting diaper covers and onsies :-) He LOVES this toy now! Has figured out he can really grab, hit and pull on things!

After a shower... I love how this showes his amazing long eyelashes!!

Connor always has his fists up, not sure if it's because we've encouraged the game of "nuckles" or he just likes is, but I love how this picture makes him look like a boxer :-)

Jeremy's work puts on a family picnic every year, this year was the first one I went to. Partially because I wasn't working, and partially because this was the first year we had a kid :-) It was fun, good food and fun games for the older kids (a fish catch, pinata, cake walk etc), it will be even more fun as Connor gets older and can participate in these games!

Jeremy chillin at the picnic with Connor... talk about an easy 1/2 day of work (he was getting paid during this!! Love it!!)

This past weekend was yard work for us!! Jeremy decided that some of the lower limbs of our trees needed trimmed, well by the time it was all said and done, our yard looked like a tornado hit! There were to many limbs!! Our back yard looks fabulous though.. much more open :-)

Jeremy hard at work trimming the lower limbs

This picture doesn't do a justice to just how many limbs there were on the ground.. but you kinda get the idea :-)

The goats were loving all of the fresh leaves to munch on... by the next day they completely cleaned them off!! They even took the bark off of alot of the branches... crazy animals :-)

We went up to Jeremy's moms house Sunday between meetings for lunch. Her dog Nikki isn't doing very good (she's lost all of the muscle in her back legs, so getting up and down is difficult) She likely won't make it through this next winter. Wanted to get a picture of Connor with her :-) He was enjoying the seat to lean up against, Nikki wasn't too thrilled about having her picture taken!

we hope she makes it through the summer!

Connor and Grandma Nancy..
