Here is a map to show where we traveled on Day 3... it's not far, but there is so much to do :-)
We decided to brave the RV shower this morning.. it is very small! perfect size for giving Connor a bath... but a little small for adults, but it worked. We went to meeting, then the couple who have meeting invited us to stay for salmon sandwiches. YUM! We visited with them for about an hour, then before heading south we went back to the beach where we stayed to take some pictures.
The beach at the furthest westerly point on the Kenai Penninsula
Jeremy and Connor on the way to the beach
This is how they do it in Alaska!! ha ha crazy---
A bald eagle on the beach with a bunch of seagulls eating on a fish
A golden eagle on the beach
Beautiful birds :-)
The Fireweed is in full bloom right now and it is INCREDIBLE!~ I guess it really only blooms for about a month, so we lucked out! Here are some of the pictures I took of the fireweed in one of the campgrounds in Anchor Point:
As if the scenery isn't pretty enough, add these flowers and its stunning!
home sweet home
A field FULL of fireweed.. it looks like this everywhere right now, its awesome!
Next we headed south for Homer, as we were pulling into town the clouds FINALLY broke and we not only saw the sun, but the most amazing view of the mountains and glacier around us!!

Finally.. we can see some mountains and glaciers :-)

One of many glaciers visible from Homer..

This is the view from the "East Hill" of Homer and the Homer Spit.. the spit is a 4.3 mile narrow strip of land (glacial deposit) that is seen on the right hand side of the photo..

The "Spit" is very popular for fishing, camping and is the main boat harbor. We plan to stay on the spit tonight :-)

Daddy and his little boy! Notice how squirmy Connor is getting :-)

We were playing the "up down" game to get him to smile... It worked :-)
We found a campground on the spit to stay at for the night, other than a little "mishap" with the drain hose for the motorhome "waste" everything is going great! :-) The plan tomorrow is to have a more relaxed day, we have been going non stop since we got here, so the plan is to have a slower day. We may walk around on the spit a little then go find a campground in Homer to move to next, but no BIG plans for Monday...
